2nd Visit to Singapore

Today is my last day in singapore, this is my 2nd time visiting this country to find my self a job. I arrived at singapore at saturday 14 june 2008. And I’m planning on staying until today, wednesday 18 june 2008.

This time, I got two interview, all of them are from agents. The first one is with Thatz International, and the second one with Obtech Asia.

The interview with Thatz International didn’t go well in my opinion. I made a lot of mistake in the written test. I guess when you’re nervous, your mind didn’t works as it should be. The second interview, is from my agent “Obtech Asia”, she got me an technical interview with her client from Philips Securities, so she send me the detailed address and person to look for.

When I arrived at Philips Securities, they asked me to do some programming test using Visual Studio 2003 and SQL Server 2000. Thank god I can finished it on time.

So, right now is the last day. I’m planning on returning to Indonesia at 2 PM. But, I still got no news from my agents.

Let’s hope that they will contact me with some good news… And I hope I will be returning to this country soon.

I Finally Achieved MCAD - Web Development

Yes, finally i’m able to achieve MCAD for Web Development. For those who don’t know what MCAD is, you can get detailed information here.

MCAD stands for Microsoft Certified Application Developer, which is one of Microsoft Certification Credential for those professionals who are focusing on .NET technology as a developer. Starting from today, i’m a MCAD for Web Development. I hope by achieving this credential will strengthen my credibility as .NET Web Developer

My Incomplete MCP

These day, when you’re working as an IT Professional, it would be good if you achieve Certification in fields you’re capable of. With this worldwide acknowledged Certification, you’ll achieve added value for your self that emphasis your credential as an IT Professional. Microsoft as one of the biggest IT Company in the world, offers Certification Programs for those Professionals who wants to prove themself capable or expert in Microsoft Products.

That’s why, to prove my credibility as a Ms .NET developer, i’m taking MCP examination test. My target is to achieve at least MCAD For Web Developer Credential. MCAD requires me to pass at least 3 MCP Exams. 2 Exams are Core Exams, means that you need to pass this primary 2 exams. These two core exams is depend on your basic programming language, so you’ll have to take different exam if you’re VB.NET developer, and so on with C# developer. Well, because i’m a VB.NET Developer and i want to achive MCAD For Web Developer, so i’m taking the VB.NET Exam for Web Application. * Damn my english is so bad *

Then you need to pass at least 1 elective exams which you can choose from the topics available. It would be best if you choose topic that you’re really good at.

Below are exam requirement for MCAD credential :

Exam 70-305 : Developing and Implementing Web Applications with Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
Exam 70–310 : Developing XML Web Services and Server Components with Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and the Microsoft .NET Framework

Elective Exams (Choose one from available) “

Exam 70–229 : Designing and Implementing Databases with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition
Exam 70–230 : Designing and Implementing Solutions with Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000 Enterprise Edition
Exam 70–234 : Designing and Implementing Solutions with Microsoft Commerce Server 2000
Exam 70-235: TS: Developing Business Process and Integration Solutions Using Microsoft Biztalk Server 2006

I’ve already Pass Exam 70-305 and Exam 70–229, so to achive my target i only need to pass Exam 70–310. Unfortunately this is the field where i’m really weak of. I’ve already failed once in this exam, but i’m planning on re-taking this exam using Microsoft Second Shot Voucher.

But then when i’m visiting Microsoft web site, there was this news that really shocks me. Microsoft gonna retiring their 12 exams focus on developer and Microsoft SQL Server technologies. And you guys know what, it’s include MCAD and MCSD credential…

This mean i need or have to pass the exam before March 31, 2009. I hope i’m gonna pass the next examination.

How I Meet Your Mother - TV Series

Recently, i liked to watch a TV series “How I Meet Your Mother” which I got it from my friend who burned it for me in DVDs.
I liked this series a lot. It’s funny, and most of the stories are about friendship. The series tells about 5 young people who lived in new york. This 5 new yorkers are : Ted, Marshall, Lily, Barney and Robin. (Actually Robin are Canadian)
Ted, Marshall and Lily are High school friends, then they met with Barney, and then Robin. And Soon, they become best friends.
They like to hang out in a bar not far from ted and marshall apartment (they lived together).

Then there is this one episode which really hit on me. It’s on the 8th episode of season 3. In this episode, Ted is dating a girl named Cathy, he eagerly wanted to tell all of his friends about her. So he set up a dinner with Cathy and his friends hoping that his friends will be as crazy about Cathy as he was.
But turns out there is something about Cathy that his friends doesn’t like about. But Ted didn’t notice any wrong about Cathy. And for his own good, his friends doesn’t want to tell him about Cathy minus or annoying habits which make him more curious.
Meanwhile Marshall are waiting for the test result for his lawyer examination test which will be posted online on the internet.
But then, he forgot about the password which is required to see the result. So, he got no other options but to wait for the result to be sent to him offline.
A while after that, when they are hanging out in the bar, Ted asked marshall again about Cathy Minus, after being pushed, Marshall finally tells Ted about Cathy Minus, which is “She Talks A lot”, and you know what, when you falling in love with someone, you have this beautiful and perfect image about the person you loved.
And after your best friends tell you about that person annoying habits, suddenly that perfect image shattered just like that.
You started to feel annoys with that habits, and you can’t get that annoyed little thing out of your mind..,

Well, thanks to Marshall who have to tell Ted about that minus things, Ted also talk about Lily minus in front of Marshall (Lily is Marshall wife). Suddenly, Marshall perfect image about Lily are shattered too, he blamed Ted for telling him that, but Ted think that Marshall already knew about that.
Then when Marshall and lily eats together just the two of them, Marshall aware that Lily are chewing so loudly… He complaints to lily about that.
Feeling mad, Lily tells Robin about How mean that Ted have to tell Marshall about her (Lily) minus, then suddenly, Robin image about Lily are shattered too…
And feels annoys too when lily chews so loud. So, after that, lily complaint about Ted in front of Robin. She said that Ted is Mr. Corrector, who always correct people. And suddendly Robin image about Ted are shattered (again)…

Then, lily and robin went to Ted apartment, where there is also Marshall and Barney waiting. Suddenly they starting to argued about each others minus, Ted complaints about how robin always using the word “Literally” in every other sentence, Robin complaints about how Marshall always sings about what he’s doing all the time.
And Marshall complaints about how Barney used to talk using high pitched voice that sounded really weird, and how Barney liked to spaced out and didn’t even pay attention to what others said.
And suddenly, Robin tell Marshall about how he sometimes just sing nonsense sentences which is robin have to admitted it is catchy. Robid and the others said that Marshall sing that nonsense sentences for about three hours and make them remember that song. Suddenly, Marshall remember that song is his password to view his lawyer examination Result.
Then, they just forget about their arguing, and together they go to Marshall computer to see the result…

“I’m a lawyer” said Marshall, and all of them is cheering Marshall, after that they went to the bar to celebrate Marshall success, and they just forget that they just have this huge argumentation and fighting about how they don’t like each other annoying habits…
The message in this episode is “When someone annoying habits are pointed out of you, it’s hard to ignore them, but if you love them enough those bad habits are easy to forgive”
